DS Smith had proved PPC could generate strong leads and brand awareness in the UK. The next step was harder. As activity expanded into Romania, Italy, Iberia, Germany and France, DS Smith needed a more consistent way to scale campaigns across markets. Conversion volume was not enough. The business needed to understand which leads were commercially relevant, which campaigns were creating real opportunities, and how PPC was contributing to growth.
Solution

Challenge
phs Group needed a stronger platform for sustainable digital growth. Technical debt and a fragmented search strategy were limiting performance, with a 67% site health score and average search position in the mid-30s. We became the safety net through a complex restructure, supporting their 2025 digital revenue target.
Solution
We focused on the foundations needed for sustainable growth. First, we rebuilt phs.co.uk’s technical SEO, fixing 404s, improving indexing and boosting page speed. This lifted site health to 91%. Then, using Houston, our keyword research tool, we shaped a data-led content plan around high-impact phrases. On-page optimisation strengthened relevance, authority and search visibility, giving phs a cleaner platform for growth.
Result
By focusing on the fundamentals, we exceeded baseline expectations for 2025/26. Average search position improved by 60%, climbing from 36.8 to a peak of 14.78, while organic clicks rose by 113% at peak.
