Frankenstein Digital is a Liverpool ecommerce agency helping online brands grow revenue through SEO, PPC, development and automation. We work with ecommerce brands doing £20k to £5m a year who want to scale properly: more of the right traffic, converting on a site that's built to sell.
The name is the concept. Frankenstein took separate parts and brought them to life by connecting them.
Many ecommerce brands have their SEO with one agency, their ads with another and their developer somewhere else. Nobody sees the whole picture, so problems fall through the gaps. We bring it all together, with search, paid ads, the website and the systems behind it all working towards the same goal.
The parts only work when they work together.
We've worked in ecommerce since 2013, starting in-house at a bed and mattress retailer where organic traffic grew from around 3,000 to 140,000 monthly visits.
Since then we've helped brands like Work Uniform Company grow revenue across SEO and Google Ads whilst cutting costs through our development.
What we do:
You'll work directly with the specialist doing the work. No account managers passing messages back and forth, no junior staff learning on your budget.
We also build our own tools, including dashboards that pull together Google Shopping spend, Shopify revenue and competitor pricing so you can see what's actually making you money.
Request a free ecommerce SEO audit and we'll show you the biggest opportunities in plain English, both from the front and back end.

Challenge
Bed Factory Direct was a local bed and mattress shop with a basic website and around 3,000 monthly visits. The goal was to turn the site into a proper national ecommerce store that could compete with the big bed retailers on Google, reach customers outside the local area and grow online sales without leaning on paid ads.
Solution
A full ecommerce SEO strategy, delivered hands-on. We fixed technical issues with site speed, crawlability and indexing, and rebuilt the category structure around how people actually search for beds and mattresses: by size, type and comfort. We optimised product and category pages for buying intent, created content targeting research searches and built links to grow authority. Development work alongside the SEO improved the site and conversion rate.
Result
Organic traffic grew from around 3,000 to 140,000 monthly visits, taking the business from a local shop to a national online retailer. The site went from barely visible to ranking on page one for competitive national bed and mattress terms, with organic search becoming a major source of sales.

Taskers is a long-established Liverpool home furnishings retailer with strong offline brand recognition, but the ecommerce side was holding it back. Order picking was manual and paper based. Orders were printed and handed to staff, who could leave the shop floor at 9am and not be back until 2pm, revisiting departments several times because orders weren't collated. Online, hundreds of product pages used copied supplier content with no keyword targeting.
Solution
We replaced paper picking with iPads mounted on trolleys, pulling live pick lists straight from Magento. Orders were collated and routed logically, with items near the entrance picked first and fewer trips between departments. Staff could see in real time what had been picked and what was missing. On the ecommerce side, we rewrote product content around search intent, fixed metadata, reorganised categories and removed duplicate and low-value pages.
Result
Picking that used to run from 9am until 2pm was consistently finished by 10:30am, cutting processing time by around 70%. Stock issues showed up on screen straight away instead of when paperwork came back incomplete, which improved delivery coordination and customer updates. The business finally had real-time control over its orders, alongside a cleaner, better-targeted product catalogue.

Work Uniform Company sells workwear and healthcare uniforms online through Shopify. Sales had stalled and the business needed a joined-up plan to grow. Paid ads weren't set up to drive profitable sales, organic visibility was limited, and orders involving multiple suppliers were being processed by hand, which would only get harder as volume increased.

Paid ads weren't set up to drive profitable sales, organic visibility was limited, and orders involving multiple suppliers were being processed by hand, which would only get harder as volume increased.
Result
Online sales grew tenfold, turning a small online store into a serious revenue channel for the business. Ads are now managed to a target return rather than spend, and automated order handling means the extra volume runs without adding admin or delays. The growth came from SEO, paid search and automation working together, not one channel on its own.

Paul has helped us significantly with our Shopify website, and we've seen some great results over the past year including increased traffic, visibility & user experience. When we decided to launch a WordPress website, we also worked with Paul and his team, who helped us choose the right platform and implement all the features we needed. Paul also guided us through the SEO aspects of the project and has always been available whenever we've needed support or encountered any issues. We would highly recommend Paul and his team to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable web development and SEO partner.
Frankenstein Digital have been excellent to work with. Their approach to SEO is clear, structured, and focused on long-term results rather than quick wins. They took the time to properly understand my business, locations, and services, and explained everything in plain English – no jargon or fluff. What really stood out was their content-first strategy, attention to site structure, and honest advice on what matters most (and what doesn’t). Communication has been consistent and transparent throughout, and they’re always happy to explain reasoning behind decisions. If you’re looking for an SEO partner who actually knows what they’re doing and focuses on building trust with Google properly, I’d highly recommend Frankenstein Digital.
We have been working with Frankenstein Digital for 3 years now on both our website development and ongoing SEO, and the results have been genuinely impressive (hence the 3 years 🙂) From the outset they took the time to understand our business properly, not just what we do but how we position ourselves and who we want to attract. The strategic thinking really shows in the finished work. Our website now feels sharper, more professional, and far more aligned with our brand. On the SEO side we have seen clear improvements in our rankings for our chosen keywords and have seen clear improvements in visibility and the quality of enquiries coming through. They are proactive, responsive and completely transparent about what they are doing and why. If you are looking for a digital marketing company that combines technical expertise with clear communication and a real interest in your success, I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Paul's support is genuinely incredible. Very responsive and always willing to answer my peculiar questions. Great knowledge and keen to get stuck in with things.
Great communication ! Great results! Highly recommended!
